Cetyl Alcohol

Cetyl Alcohol, also called palmityl alcohol, cetanol, ethel or ethol, is a fatty alcohol appearing as a waxy white solid or flakes used in cosmetic industry and as a lubricant for nuts and bolts among other small metals.

It is use as opacifier in shampoos or as an emulsifier or thickening agent in the manufacture of skin creams and lotions.
