Dicalcium Phosphate
Dicalcium phosphate also known as dibasic calcium phosphate or calcium monohydrogen phosphate is a chemical compound commonly used as a food additive.
Dicalcium phosphate is produced by the reaction of calcium chloride and phosphoric acid. Calcium carbonate is also used in place of the calcium chloride and sodium hydroxide.
It is mainly used as a dietary supplement in preparing breakfast cereals, dog treats, enriched flour, and noodle products. It is also used as a tableting agent in some pharmaceutical preparations, including some products meant to eliminate body odor.
Dicalcium phosphate is also found in some dietary calcium supplements. It is used in poultry feed. It is also used in some toothpaste as a tartar control agent.
