Dichloroisocyanuric acid, also known as dichlor or dichloro-s-triazinetrione is a colorless solid chemical compound. It is manufactured by chlorination of cyanuric acid and is an active ingredient in many commercial bacteriocides, algicides, and cleaning agents.
It is an oxidizer that reacts with water to form hypochlorous acid, the sodium salt of which is the active ingredient in bleach.
The sodium salt of dichloroisocyanuric acid, sodium dichloroisocyanurate is the active ingredient in many powderized cleansers and is also used as a swimming pool disinfectant.
