What is the maximum tank depth or height the Tankloq system will work with?

The Tankloq tank telemetry and monitoring system could monitor any size of storage tank or mobile assets such as vehicles carrying both bulk liquid and gases. Any custom depth systems are available on request. Please contact Turraco for more information.

Does the system works with underground tanks?

Yes. Tankloq will work with all types of tanks both freestanding and underground. A product designed for this application is the Tankloq UST, specially designed for petrol gas filling stations, factories, companies and depots with underground storage tanks. What is the difference between the cellular and satellite based Tankloq Devices?

Both devices serve the same purpose. However, the satellite based Tankloq unit communicates with our web based server via satellite, while the cellular based unit connects with our cloud system via the GSM networks. The satellite unit is recommended for areas across Africa with poor communication facilities.

Can Tankloq measure liquids and gases from more than one tank?

Yes. Tankloq could be configured to monitor any amount of storage tanks. Each tank will need a tank unit installed. Basically, Tankloq UST could monitor up to five (5) storage tanks at a time, though mostly recommended for underground storage tank monitoring. Will Tankloq work if obstructed by walls or trees?

All Tankloq units are designed to adapt to low cellular transmission quality. Any wireless system will have its range/reception reduced by obstacles, similar to the poor reception of radio stations in remote areas with thick vegetation. Turraco recommends minimizing obstructions in the direct path of the wireless signal. If you experience poor connection, reception can be improved by upgrading your system to satellite based unit with direct access to the sky.

Can I install the Tankloq Unit myself?

We have a team of installers across our region of operation to assist you in installing Tankloq. For some organizations, we could train their staff on how to install the units and offer them permission to self-install our devices. Tankloq tank monitoring system is designed to be very easy to install and no technical skills are required to install it. For organizations which we offer permission to install our products, Turraco does recommend reading the user manual in detail prior to starting any installation.

How long does it take Tankloq to read my storage tank or tanker once installed?

Tankloq will start storing and calculating your storage tank or mobile tanker content, usage and trends from the moment it is installed. The longer the system is running the more intuitive and “smart” the system will become.

When will Tankloq detect a leak or theft in my liquid or gas storage system?

Depending on the configuration settings you choose for your system, Tankloq will provide a user alert for abnormal usage (leaks or theft) after approximately 10 mins - 1 hour.

Does the Tankloq unit always need to be installed horizontally on the tank?

Tankloq products are installable on any type and sizes of horizontal and vertical tanks. Our device is to be horizontally and firmly installed on tanks. The tank unit can also be installed on any angle or position on the tank (or off the tank). The condition is that the attached sensor must be installed on the tank so it will be able to read your tank content, such as in the case of Tankloq UST.

Can Tankloq be use to control my pump?

Yes. The Tankloq could be integrated with fully automatic pump controller system. We sell pump controller separately and we would be glad to integrate it with your Tankloq installation. The pump controller system comes with the pump control software. Simply purchase the Tankloq Wireless Pump Controller and Tankloq Sensor. We shall connect it to your system and you will have full control of your pump.

Can Tankloq be put into fast transmit mode?

The Tankloq UST system comes with this function. At any time, you can call for a fast transmit of your storage tank level and content amount, both remotely or onsite. Simply push the button on the base of the display unit and the system will go into a fast transmit mode for immediate reporting of your tank inventory status. This is especially useful when initially installing the system.

How often do I need to replace the battery in my Tankloq device?

All Tankloq units come with inbuilt battery that could last between 1 to 5 years, depending on usage. Once the battery is about to worn out, the unit will alert you and you will need to contact us to get a replacement.
